Rikke Broegaard- Expert in Rural Development and Land Tenure Security

Ph.D in Social Sciences (University of Roskilde (Denmark), with doctoral thesis carried out in Nicaragua in relation to land conflicts and rural development that is considered by international experts as crucial information for decision-makers working with land tenure issues around the world. Conducted a research program for the World Bank-Nicaragua’s PRODEP program in which her conclusions and recommendations on other crucial elements besides land titling alone to perceptions of tenure security.  Has published numerous articles on land tenure and conflicts, as well as rural development for the Pacific and Caribbean regions of Nicaragua and internationally.

She is currently assigned by ensome as the expert for carrying out a study on the development of a monitoring and evaluation system, as well as indicators for land security for the International Land Coalition for diverse governmental and non-governmental organizations in SE Asia, Africa and Latin America.
